Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented ETO for Newbuild Supervision for Vard 982/”Norwind Maestro TBN” at Vard Søviknes, Norway. The commissioning and testing period starts in October 2025 and the vessel will be delivered in January 2026.
Possibility for continued employment as ETO on either Norwind Maestro or one of our other sailing vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the commissioning, quality inspections, harbour testing, sea trials, and operational start-up of vessels, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings and Norwind standards.
- Monitor and report progress, quality metrics, and any issues requiring attention to the Site Manager/Project Manager in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare vessels for operational readiness, adhering to all Norwind operational requirements.
- Uphold Norwind’s values, Code of Business Conduct, and all company policies throughout all operations and interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience sailing.
- Preferably, direct experience with newbuild projects, including hands-on involvement in vessel construction or major refits.
- Experience with W2W gangway system is highly desirable.
- Experience with the operation or construction of Norwind’s Vard 4 19 design CSOV series is highly desirable.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office tools and relevant digital platforms.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of vessel systems, shipbuilding processes, and industry regulations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High standards for quality and safety; meticulous in documentation and compliance.
Working Hours
Working hours is normally Monday-Friday 08:00 to 16:00, with some overtime as required by tests and trials performed outside these hours. To ensure continuity in the team candidates must be willing to stay at the yard for longer periods, a system with service and leisure time account will compensate for this.
